Giles and Sue Live The Good Life - episode 2 - Is It a Good Life?

Hello again, fans of Giles and Sue, and welcome back to my blog dedicated to them, and their work.

This time I'll be reviewing the second episode of their new show on BBC 2 called 'Giles and Sue Live The Good Life'. And if you didn't watch it yet, you may not want to read this, as I will be describing a few things that happened in the show. So, here goes...

First of all, I'd like to say that I think Giles and Sue make me laugh roughly at least every minute in this show, because just like in 'Supersizers' they come out with funny things, and they get on really well, infact, I'd go as far to say that they get on better now, in this series, than they did in 'Supersizers'. Although they still have the occational dig at each other - which helps add to the humour of the show.

Secondly, there are always bits that stand out to me, as My Funniest Moments of the show. And these are: when Giles and Sue take the two goats out for a walk, and they keep pooing in the road, and Sue has to get down to pick the little droplets up; also when Giles and Sue made a scarecrow in their allotment, and they dressed it up to look like Margo, from the original series of 'The Good Life', and Sue said to Giles that it's his ideal woman - before we knew it was supposed to be Margo; and also when Giles cut out fabric for a dress Sue would then wear to the 'Summer Party', and once it was on Sue she started to strut about in it, in their living room.

And I'd also like to say that Sue really does make a great Margo, and can really pull off the posh, North London accent. And in this episode, she again got dressed up as Margo, but we only saw her briefly, once in their living room, on the phone, and once with Giles - as Jerry, at a tennis court. And again, I'd like to add that the outfit she wore was very good, and really suited her.

Finally, I'd say that this series, so far, has been very informative, as well as fun. We also get to see Giles and Sue talk to people who lived in the seventies, to give us a better idea, of what it was like to live a self-sufficient lifestyle.

Thanks for reading, and it would be much apprieciated if you could leave a comment about what you thought of the show.

Bye for now, Ss1!

Giles and Sue Live The Good Life... VERY FUNNY!

Hello readers! (And fans of Giles and Sue.) Welcome back to my blog. This time it's all about Giles and Sue's new show... and my opinion on it. And... I thought it was GREAT! Just as good and funny as Supersizers. And Sue Perkins as Margo... well... she should win an award, that's all I'm saying.

Giles Coren was also great, and made the perfect Tom, although I can't really comment on him as Jerry, because we didn't see enough of him as that character. But his hair being slicked back was pretty cool. And he made some great bread, even though the SHOUTY BREAD WOMAN kept shouting at him and telling him he was doing it wrong. But, in the end, he made a really good loaf of bread, and the S. B. W. thought it was tastier than Sue's.

Also, Sue looked great dressed as Margo on the golf course - that look totally suits her! And she was funny when she got her golf ball stuck in the sand pit. I couldn't help but laugh at her.

And just like Supersizers, it had lots of info. about the time period - the seventies. And Giles even went to a library to do some research about how to live like Tom and Barbara. And Sue also did some research, but she was at their home in North London at the time, while Giles was in the library, standing up - the whole time! Didn't he get sore legs?

Anyway, overall the show is a must see for anyone wanting to live a seventies lifestyle - like Tom and Barbara Good. And also for fans of Supersizers, or just Giles and Sue - kind of like me. Although Giles has called me 'the number one focus group' of the show. And I'm very proud of that.

Thanks for reading, and please do leave a comment about the show. Bye for now, Ss1!

Sue Perkins and Giles Coren on The One Show!

Hello again! You're back! Or... in the case of you being a new reader to this blog, hello, and welcome to my blog, about Sue and Giles, and their work on TV, both old and new, and all very good - in my opinion.

Today's blog tells the story of Giles and Sue on The One Show. It was VERY exciting to see them together on TV again, but, unfortunately, they weren't shown quite enough. The show does seem to skip about quite a bit, and so Giles and Sue didn't get a very long interview, unlike shows such as The Paul O' Grady Show, and Loose Women, where the guests get much longer to talk, and it's all in one go - most of the time.

The One Show is good though, it does include quite a bit of humour, but it's not so great for interviewing celebrity guests. The presenters are good though, even though sometimes they do interrupt the guests, as they did with Giles and Sue - which I thought was a little unfair, seeing as their fans haven't seen them together for months, since they were filming 'Giles and Sue Live The Good Life', as Giles posted a pic of them together (outside their pig shelter) .

And there it is, above!

And don't they look lovely? Well, I think they do! They make a very good Tom and Barbara Good, don't they?

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is, that Giles and Sue deserved much more camera time than they got given on 'The One Show'. And if it was up to me to direct that show, I'd of told the presenters to of let Giles and Sue speak for longer, or I would of made the show longer - as I don't think that 'The One Show' goes on long enough to fit everything in.

Thanks for listening/reading my opinion on this topic, and I hope to hear some of your comments about it.

Cooking for beginners!

Hello again, you lovely readers, you! Today's blog post is going to be a little different. Mainly for the fact that I'm going to be giving you all advise on how to cook. But, this being 'Supersizer1's blog' it'll have a slight twist to how most people give cooking advice.

This post is inspired by Giles Coren's book 'Anger Management For Beginners' and also by something I ate today.

First of all, you need to go to your local cafe or canteen (depending on how old you are) . If it's a cafe, order a burger - if they sell them, and if not, go to your local canteen, and buy a burger. Now, also depending on your taste in food, whether you are a vegetarian, or vegan, or just a normal eater, then it's best to order a chicken burger.

Once you've ordered your burger (and make sure you get a nice sauce to go with it) , sit down at your nearest table, or just pop it in your bag and take it to wherever you're going. Then, once you've sat down, and are comfortable, open the wrapper (if it has one) , and split the burger in two - if it has two ends to the bun. Add your choosen sauce, and put the top piece of the bun back onto the piece of CHICKEN - if that was your choosen filling.

Then, finally (and this is the best bit) CHEW CHEW CHEW! And OF COURSE do enjoy your burger.

Thanks for reading, leave a comment - if you have the urge, and let me know how your burger tasted like.
