Meeting Mel G. and OOTD!

Hi everyone! Boy am I glad to be writing on here again... I haven't done a proper post since February about my fashion picks. Since then I have been spending my spare time watching shows like Back in Time for the Weekend and Raised by Wolves and Thirteen! All are fab, by the way.

Last night was a pretty special night. I went uptown to the Southwark Playhouse to see Luce and Mel afterwards. I am pleased to say that I did in fact meet Mel and it was super lovely and I felt extra happy for seeing her! She said "Hi! How are you?" and her face said 'I recognise you.', which made me smile. I said "I'm alright." because I always play myself down like that. I wasn't going to say "I'm great!" or "I'm better seeing you!". But in my head that's what I'd think. I spoke to her about my companion who was with me and about how "It was my birthday yesterday." and she said "Happy Birthday!" twice!

I then asked for a picture, she said "Sure." and then shortly afterwards we had our photo taken. It's on my phone - but unfortunately that's out of action atm. As soon as it is back up and running I'll upload a pic for you. Mel looked cute in her white tee and blue dungarees. I wore my blue and gold shift dress with my coat over the top. We looked proper retro! :D

The theatre was packed with people, standing by the bar and sitting on couches. But when we first arrived it was quite empty. That was because another play finished at about 10 o'clock. So some audience members gathered around the bar.

I was quite thirsty after meeting Mel. I wanted a hot cappuccino at one of my fave restaurants, but what I actually had was a Skinny Caffe Latte from Tesco. I had it on me as I travelled home. The journey back was far better than the journey there. I even had the pleasure of seeing a small mouse on the Charing Cross platform. Delightful! (Joke.)

My OOTD! Featuring my blue & gold ASOS shift dress (traffic people is the brand) and my Boohoo necklace with blue beads.

Thank you for reading this post. Coming soon: a review of Back in Time for the Weekend.

I'm off now! My Krispie Kreme is waiting for me...
Bye for now! xxx

February Fashion Picks

While winter has seen our weather plummet to freezing temperatures and The Great Sport Relief Bake Off has graced our screens, I have been a little obsessed over the latest fashions and in particular what I have recently ordered online from ASOS, Joe Browns and such. It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to my 'February Fashion Picks' or FFPs. These are the pieces I have been loving and I would recommend to you all to give at least one of these pieces a go.

First up are the 'Distressed jeans' or Super Skinny Dip Dye Jeans by Noisy May from ASOS. They have a lot going for them! They are a good fit, make me feel confident when wearing them out, I have got good looks from people, they are edgy and fresh with the distressed patches and holes, and they are very fashionable because of their unique dip-dye look.

Next up is my Joe Browns Marvellous Metallic Skater Dress in blue and gold! It is a statement piece for parties or weddings. You can style it how you want, but I think a low heeled pair of black shoes works well with it, teamed with a cute clutch! Try Joe Browns Pretty Lace Clutch Bag (Black). It's a sophisticated look, as well as being fun.

I have also loved wearing my new Faux Fur Trim Biker Boots (also Joe Browns) because they are a change from the norm and rock any outfit, they are also great for staying warm in winter.

The picture above shows when I'd first worn them, they still had their red tag on. I have not worn them out without long trousers on or socks. The picture is deceptive.

My penultimate pick is my Deep Pink Blazer from F&F at Tesco! It's not your average blazer and really sets itself apart from day-to-day office wear or going out gear. I'd pick it over any pastel shade, just because I know what suits me in terms of colours, mostly. And I will always choose this shade of pink because it's eye-catching and totally my fave shade.

My last pick of the month is a classy, retro find, taking us back to 1960s Britain, because it is a jacquard shift dress in light blue & gold. (Traffic People, ASOS.) It has a faded look to it, with 3/4 length sleeves and a short skirt to it. It's one of those dresses that once you see it you know it's for you. I was obsessed the moment I saw it online and felt good in it too! Unfortunately there's no picture to show you of it, because I never took the time to take one. I enjoyed wearing it THAT much, that there was no time for photography. Maybe when I wear it next I'll take a few snaps for you.

Thank you for reading about my FFPs! (February Fashion Picks.)

Before I depart from blogging land I'll tell you about my new-found love in having a cool group of people to chat to on Twitter. They are known as 'The Sue Squad', because they are quite simply the coolest Sue fans I know. I am so glad I have found a connection with these peeps and we can share our love of Sue and pictures of Sue, and our ups, downs, everything and anything we like. Before I had The Sue Squad in my life, I felt as though I was missing something and now I've found it! The simplest things are often the best. Just saying good morning/afternoon/evening to these guys makes the world seem a better place.

May we all be S.S. peeps for a long time and share our fandom and the stuff we like.

Have a good day everyone!

Love, Ss1 (Miss Supersizer). xxx

Two days out that were enjoyable and memorable.

Good evening, people of the Twittersphere and Blogosphere. It's been a crazy week. I went uptown, I went to a bar (well outside the bar), I ate out. Then two days later, I went to my local shops and bought new make-up, hair dye, and had a gorgeous battered sausage and a large portion of chips! I loved going out both times, to do something I never thought possible - that is attend a Bloggers event. And attend a trendy bar. The only catch was that I was too young to be allowed in without an ID. I had not known I'd need one, so unfortunately that was one eventuality I had not prepared for.

On Wednesday the 9th I thought I was going to spend my evening in Bar Soho, surrounded by other bloggers, all of whom had similar interests as me, and maybe I could network with them, making friends, proper blogging pals, who I could relate to and converse with at the bar, and online. But no such luck. I thought I'd watch a cool catwalk show, take some pics, maybe leave with a bag of Joe Browns' clothing, perhaps given to me by someone who worked at/for Joe Browns. Sadly, no. Being unaware of a certain 'Under 25' rule, I had not come fully prepared to go to the event. So, however early I had come it would have made not the blind bit of difference. I was doomed from the get-go.

But, the nice young woman who is Joe Browns' PR lady, gave me a goody bag and promised me some form of compensation for missing out on the catwalk show. I had really looked forward to it, but it was obviously not meant to be.

Oh, heaven help me!!! Maybe next time things will turn out better...

Still to come... pictures from the two days out. They'll be in my next post.

See you next time, faithful Twitter friends.

Mel & Sue recording. (With me in the audience and on set.)

Last Thursday I met Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins. I went to see their show being recorded live and it all started, well, quite terribly, with me being given some bad news when I arrived at the studio's venue. Julie was there (my friend from Twitter) and we met, which was lovely, but I was on a bit of a low point after the shocking news of not getting in for Thursday's show.

When I came back upstairs (in the shopping centre, where the studio is) Julie met me again and we waited around for Mel & Sue to come out of the studio. I then, thankfully met Sue, and she remembered me from all those years ago (just over 4 years), and we had a brief chat, and I got an autograph and a picture.

This piece of writing refers to the pic of me and Sue, which I show below in a collage! ---> A picture says 1000 words. And I reckon this one does say it all. Sue's pointing at me like 'I'm here with Supersizer1.', but she's just thinking that.

It was a massive turn-around when Sue said to me "Did you enjoy the show?" and I said "I didn't see it.", she wasn't pleased about that, and after hearing what my companion had to say about it, and what Julie had to say, she spoke to a woman who works at that studio, and Sue got me in!!! I was lead away by another woman who got me to get a wristband put on me, and then I was told to go "Over there.". I then sat down and tweeted about meeting Sue, before my phone's battery died.

It was all up from there. No down, depressed moments, at all.

We waited for 1hr and a half, perhaps more before seeing the recording, and I got sat on the left of the studio. I could see the two sofas, and the walls quite well, but because of the cameras, my vision of the kitchen area was poor. The recording lasted for a good two hours, and I was feeling sick at one point, so a kind lady got me a free water (well, she asked someone else to get it). I think it was a mix of the hot studio lights, me feeling tired and also all the cheering, which has hurt my throat quite a bit.

When the recording was finished, I went over to Sue (who I saw briefly earlier, while we were waiting to go into the studio), and I said I'd have to get my 3DS, so that I could get a pic of me with Mel and Sue. I went as quick as I could to my bag, and got it out. I came back over, got Mel's autograph and Mel commented on my pink scarf, which was funny! I then got my companion to take the pic of us, which came out pretty good. I love the girl photo-bombing in between me and Sue!

I did a little collage! Hope you like it!
(Below is something I wrote about the above picture, of me with Sue and Mel.)

I don't know about you, but I want to quote this song/these lyrics here:
Clowns to the left of me,
Jokers to the right,
Here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you.

Right at the end, I asked Sue for a hug, after Mel had walked over to some other people to talk to them. I said "Can I have a hug?", she said "Of course!". It was lovely. She was so sweet and made me feel special, and cheered me up, after the day's initial disappointment.

Also, before going home, me and my companion asked if I could go back on set and take a few pics.

So... here's a few for you.

The famous window! (A sweet sunset.)

When I watched Mel & Sue on Friday!

Thank you for reading this. And thank you to Sue, Julie and Mel, for a day I'll never forget. Also, thank you to the kind staff/crew for being so accommodating.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Please comment below or tweet me your thoughts on this post.

Lots of love, Ss1. xxx

Going to see Mel & Sue tomorrow!

Tomorrow I am going to see Mel & Sue, at ITV Studios. I will be in the audience. I am so excited! I have told Giles and Howard (of Bake Off fame) about it, and I am happy that both have been lovely about it. It is going to be one hell of a day!

Alan Davies and Ken Hom are the guests, and I am going with my companion and also meeting a lady from Twitter too!

I will let you all know how I get on tomorrow. Pics, gossip, fun stuff, food and all!

Bye for now,

Giles Coren, short clip.

This is a short clip from YouTube where Giles explains the minute differences between Canadians and Americans, and says that people from America think he's a Canadian because of his 'weird' accent - which is so not weird.

Also, his show Million Dollar Critic is showing in America now. Also, Pressure Cooker. Check his Twitter feed for the times they are on, and where, like ET 9/10pm, or whatever.

He retweeted me last week too. Woo hoo! And I got 3 tweets from him, on seperate days.

Bye for now,
